About Scott
Scott grew up poor in a small town in Iowa, which he calls his time surviving in the Cornstalk Ghetto. Living under the roof of a manic-depressive father made school a place to escape from a dark childhood. Not surprisingly Scott was drawn to the role of class clown. Instead of taking the loudest and most obnoxious path for laughs, he instead used the more subtle, likable approach in getting classmates to shoot milk out of their nostrils. (This is why his report cards would often say, disrupts class, pleasure to have in class…written by the same teacher.)
A journalism major in college, he quickly realized after graduation that the job opportunities in this field were not good. Moving to Chicago, Scott attempted the world of retail management, but he quickly realized that customer service does not include trying to make an angry customer even angrier. After attending a comedy show one night, Scott thought that he was funnier than the comedians on-stage. From that point began the standup comedy career of Scott Long. Tens of thousands of satisfied customers later, Scott has become a highly-requested act, demonstrating that you don’t have to live in New York or LA to be a very successful comedian.
